Announcement

Participation in Trade Wars 2026 is limited to high schools and area technology centers within the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ service area or by invitation only.

Date: Friday, April 24

Time: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Location: ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Rowan Campus. 100 & 400 Rocky Adkins Tech Drive, Morehead, KY.

Competition Information

Competition: Construct a low-voltage control circuit to operate two or more 120-volt circuits and complete a written test on an HVAC wiring diagram.

Capacity: 30 students

Competition: Tire Rotation Team Challenge

Capacity: Team event—Fleming, Harrison ATC, Lee ATC, Montgomery ATC, Morgan ATC, and Mason Magnet may each send one team of four students. Only one team from each of these schools will be accepted.

Competition: Robot Race – Teams of 2–3 program a robot to navigate a maze after a 10-minute training session. Fastest team wins.

Competition: Lathe competition & Vice indicating competition.

Competition: Nail driving.

Capacity: Up to five students per school.

Competition: Control Device Challenge – Individual competition.

Capacity: 15 students

Competition: Bleeding control, CPR, and assessment of airway, breathing, and circulation (ABC).

Capacity: 10 students per 30-minute session

Competition: Students compete in time and accuracy wiring a simple schematic on motor control trainers.

Competition: Participants will learn beginner-level medical assisting skills and rotate through stations designed to test their knowledge. Measuring vital signs, patient interaction, room preparation, basic first aid, and chart documentation.

 

Competition: Vital Signs Showdown, Glove-Up Relay, and Wound Wrapping Wars – Fast-paced, hands-on challenges testing speed, skill, and precision.

Capacity: 40 students

Competition: Students compete individually (in groups) in real-world PTA challenges—measuring crutches, testing balance and grip, and anatomy tasks—to earn the PTA Champion Banner and prizes.

Capacity: 40 students

Competition: Build-A-Bear Lungs: Create a lung model judged on creativity, accuracy, and understanding.

Cardiopulmonary Trivia & Sputum Bowl: Trivia challenge on cardiopulmonary facts.

Capacity: 18 students

Impromptu Speaking Event

Competition: Draw topic (pop culture, news, literature, history) out of a hat. Participants will have 7 minutes to research/prep. The speech will require introduction/body/conclusion and 3-5 minutes using only one note card.

Capacity: 20 students

Competition: Three different welding competitions: pipe, tee and lap joint, tee joint.
